3-STAR ONEILL BARBECUE READY TO HOST HOT & SIZZLING RIDING
An easy atmosphere, sick shredding and riders ready to have a good time are the only ingredients needed for the Swatch TTR 3-Star ONeill Barbecue, prepared to take over the ONeill Fellhornpark in Oberstdorf, Germany on March 22nd 2008. Ready to be dished out are 550 TTR Ranking points, a $10 000 USD prize purse and loads of sponsor goods to the best riders of the day.
The ONeill Barbecue brings the height of the season to Fellhorn, Germany's biggest ski resort. The event managed to develop from a small, local contest to an extremely popular competition within the last five years, attracting skilled riders from all over Europe. The park is one of the best around featuring two kickers, a massive hip, and a heavy saturation of every rail and box imaginable. Riders will have no problem getting creative with such an abundance of freestyle terrain and obstacles to slay.
French rider Jean Jacques Roux is scheduled to compete. He is current World No. 130, Roux came 7th at the 4-Star Crans Montana Champs Open and is known to go high and far on any obstacle. German Rider Elias Elhardt who recently placed 2nd at the 5-Star ijthetiker W䮧l T䮧l 2 weeks ago has also confirmed his presence at the ONeill Barbecue. Currently World No. 88, Elhardt has placed high in previous 2 and 3-Star events and could move into the Swatch TTR Top 50 with a Title win at the ONeill Fellhornpark. Finally, Thomas Schwarz from Germany is also competing and is the current leader of the Suzuki Wir Schanzen Tour, a series part of the TTR on the 1 and 2 star level that closes with the 3-Star ONeill Barbecue. Leading the local tour on the women's side is Steffi Hamann (GER), TTR World Nr. 47, who will look to move into the Top 40 with a victory in her home resort.
Starting Thursday, March 20th and continuing through to the 22nd, competitors will have the opportunity to test, practice and become familiar with the challenging setup. Friday will host another day of practice alongside a tasty BBQ for everyone. The competition will go down on Saturday and following the prize giving riders and spectators can let loose at the after party with DJ Stylewarz from Bremerhaven / Germany look forward to a hilarious party until sunrise.
